Show & Tell Wednesday...

Ok...I'm a lil' on the lazy side of writting..but I did manage to take some cool pics with my camera that I'd like to share..so here goes..

These two are my favorites...It's a warehouse I pass by everyday on my way home from work....

I took this one on my way to work really early in the morning..Isn't that cloud awesome?

yes. I said awesome. Fuck off.

A to the Men! Part Deux

Where was I...??

Oh..I had gotten to the joint, said Hi to "True" and sat my ass down.

He introduced me to some other pals and the show began.

It started with a very moving act...like a monologue. Very touching. I will admit, that without going into too many details, that the words that girl said, moved me.

Ok. Yeah...I was moved.

So anyways..the rock band set up and played their first set.

I don't like rock too much. And christian rock? well you know...
But my, Oh My...was I freakin' impressed (I'm not gonna say f*cking...come on..!)!!!

These kids played their butts off...It didn't even sound like christian music..I was blown away...bobbing my head..tapping my feet...just cool like that...

After that set, a young fellow got up and talked about the love of God and so forth...and I was just twitching in my seat, really hoping "True" would do his show already...

A few minutes later, "True" hooked a gal up with a 'virgin' Piña Colada....and I happened to slip in the bathroom and shake it up with some Vodka....

Ok. The Vodka part didn't happen. But I did enjoy my Piña Colada.
After the fellow talked and asked if anyone wanted to accept Jesus Christ as the exclusive savior...I knew that part was coming sooner or later....

"True" finally took the stage.

His show rocked.
I've always known he has had mad talent and that night was no exception....After his set, everyone asked for an encore and he quickly pleased the crowd. It was amazing.
B-boys took the stage, danced, partied. You couldn't even tell it was a nice, quiet, cool setting.

After the show, everyone wanted "True's" attention, but he made sure I wasn't lost in the crowd. He packed up his equipment and we all headed out to Denny's.

At Denny's I had to call my night short, due to Miss C who was still sick at home.

But it was all good.

I didn't accept Jesus Christ as my savior and I didn't have to make any promises to go to Sunday School. But, I did have a good time. A different kind of good time. No alcohol, no girlfriends, no boyfriends, Just me. Flying Solo. And although I was worried and terrified at first, I had a great time.

So great...that me, "True", his sister, her sons and Miss C hit up Chuck E. Cheese yesterday to wish her a safe trip. She is going back to the states today.

So there ya have it folks. I went to a church things and I have come out with all my organs. I didn't burn in hell and I would probably go again.

yeah. there i said it.

but dont' worry, that doesn't mean I'm going all mushy on ya'....
I'll still create havoc and destruction....

;-)

Pics below.."True" is the one with the Green Polo!!

My cue

*Warning...Rambling Post up ahead...all uncoming traffic beware*

Sometimes in life you get a cue.
You get a hint.
An idea.
You get a suggestion that it's time.

Time to move.
Time for a change.
Time to start something.
Time to finish something else.
Time to leave.
Time to just do something.

I just got that cue.

I had doubts about something.
And I didn't know what to do.
I didn't know what to make of my doubts.
I am a paranoid person you see.
Maybe I was being to harsh.
Maybe I was jumping to conclusions.
Maybe I was wrong.

Right or wrong.
I saw my cue.
I understood that somethings are not for me.
That I must learn to trust my guts..my instincts...my heart.
Rationalizing is not always the answer.

So in honor of this cue, that I have just received,
I understand that it is my time.
It is my time to do something about my doubts.
As I always say when it's my turn to move:
"That's my cue...I'm out!".

So, listen carefully to the cue's in your life.
They are always there, we just have to look, feel and listen.

A to the Men! part Uno

This long holiday weekend I had nothing planned. With my horrible cough and canceled plans of going to travel, I had nothing left but Blockbuster and Miss C.

But in the past week, a good ol' friend of mine had been inviting me to this show he was going to rap in. Mind you, not just any show.

A christian show.
As in Church thing.

Yeah. My thoughts exactly. Me in a church thing. Uhuh. Being talked to by many people about the love of Christ and wanting to convince me to attend the service on any Sunday is enough for me. But, "True" is a really good friend and we go waaaay back. This thing was also in my hometown, so if things got bad, I was a good 5 minutes away from Amityville...ahem...I mean, my house.

What do you wear to a church thing? There was gonna be a rock band and a rap show. But it's still a christian event.

Ok. Scratch out boob showing top with glitter.
Nope. This gold sequin low cut one is out too.
Torn jeans showing random parts of legs, nope.
Yankees cap and sneaks, nope.
I finally settled on some knee length type slacks with a Mickey Mouse T-Shirt (Hey, everyone loves Mickey...even Jesus!), and my new platforms.

So I'm driving to this spot by myself and I call my buddy, who is also going to be the DJ for the evening and I tell him:

"True" I'm on my way. If you leave my side for more than 10 mintues, I'm a gonner."

He chuckled and assured me that no such thing would happen.
Yeah. I've heard this reassurance before and I don't feel re-assured.
I for one, have not been in a 'church' enviroment since I took Miss C to be baptized.

Circa 2003.

Me not fond of Church. Me not fond of people banging ideas into my head and wanting me to fit in with the rest of the group. Me not fond of all churches in general. But that's a whole different post.

For now, I just had to find the place and pray I wouldn't stumble upon some Congretation full of White Girls with ankle lenghts skirts trotting along with their Bibles, like it's Sunday School, while I roll up in my Death Van, blasting Hip Hop and come out decked out in black, nose ring and sparkly eyeshadow. (Come on, I'm going to a church thing, I dressed accordingly, but I wasn't gonna sacrifice my make-up and style..cuz Jesus loves me-yes-I-know-with-my-slacks-and-new-platforms).

So I park at the end of the street, come out and walk towards the 'party'.....Yep. Lots of Church girls. Bubbly, lovey, "oh-my-god-she-doesnt-go-to-our-church-but-God-Bless-You-anyway" type girls, in jeans. I don't do perky. But, I walked in, paid my entrance, to which I receive a coupon to redeem for one of the following :

1. Water
2. Coke (the kind u drink)
3. Snacks

Yes people. No drinks. No pot. No nada. Empress would have had a ball.

I call my boy up and I immediately see him at the turntables...
As I see him, it's all joy and love and we hug like there's no tomorrow. It's been like a few years since we last saw each other and he is very special to me. We used to work together a very long time ago and he's a very gifted young man and I'm glad he's on a good path.

Ok. enough mush. He shows me to a table. He shows me his nephews, his sister and off he goes to the turntables. I am left to smile and stare at the checkered floor and hope no one tries to make me accept Jesus Christ as my Only and Exclusive Savior.

Did I leave the joint early? Did i have a nice time? Did something in me change when the night was done? Do I have pictures?

Well, you are just gonna have to wait till tomorrow....

Thank you all for your kind words in my previous post. I wouldn't know how to exactly explain what I am feeling (Shocker, huh?), but I'm just kinda of drifting along thoughts and memories and ideas and just can't grasp any long enough to feel sane. ::sigh::

I am also still physicallly sick. I think I might actually have to visit a ::gasp:: doctor. I'm kind of maybe a lil' bit suspicious of my cough that has had me up for a whole week. Maybe it's not just a cold. I mean what kind of cold keeps you up all night and makes you become best friends with NyQuil. Shots of Nyquil aren't my idea of hitting the bottle.

I was going to travel this weekend, with "A" and Empress, but she has abandoned me. She is in New Yawk, working on some concerts...lucky lucky gal.

She was supposed to come to my house last night to watch the VMA's and bring me some *meds, but stood me up....

That's ok. I still love her.
And she didn't miss anything special on the VMA's.

3 and half hours wasted...
Like if I had time like that to waste...
Fuckers.

*******

Ok. Let me get off that boat.
Today's Friday's Four is brought to you, courtesy of the Empress. She left me a message suggesting I do a Friday's Four about how we would like to Pimp Our Cars...

So here goes:
Friday's Four: Pimp My Ride Edition..

1. Taken from Empress' list: a voice activated 'communication board'. Example: Some one cuts you off and you can command the board to write up something for you like:

Fuck you, you mother fucker...

And have that be displayed on the outside of your vechicle.

2. Mommy Octopus Hands. Especially for the Mommy Multi-taskers. So I can finally use my two hands to drive, instead of trying to drive, feed my daughter, put on Madonna's "Hung Up", flip the bird to asshole on the right and flick the money into the lil' bowl at the tollbooth.

3. An Electric Shocker underneath the seats to give Miss C and all other passengers, who think it's amusing to leave their trash, soda pop cans and crumbs on my seats, a lil' reality 'shock'.

4. And last but not least. I'd like to program my car with random phrases, á lá Kit, so when I talk to myself, which is very very often, it can respond with some oddball phrase, á lá Magic Eight Ball....so I won't feel that crazy talking to myself.

::driving on highway::
"You know? I've had a really bad day...men are such assholes...I hate this fucking traffic!!"Moi
"Really?...I think you look good in those shoes. They make you look skinny". Death Van

So, if given an unlimited amount of money and imagination...how would you pimp out your ride...

*********
Thought of the weekend:
If it's a long weekend, like this upcoming weekend, pencil-in some nap time and recharge.
