Friends

She met me through the Internet. We exchanged numbers and quickly sparked a friendship. She'd write to me a few times in the day or call and we would talk about anything she'd like. She was near my age, close to my area and also happened to have Aspergers.

Aspergers

She was desperate to meet me and when the chance arrived that her parents could take her to the church I attend this Sunday she was estatic.

She had mentioned how happy she was and how grateful she was to have connected with me, Yoly and some other gals.

I was happy I could make a difference.

Her parents dropped her off, but not without before meeting me and leaving reassured that we would make her feel right at home. I had given a previous heads up to my congregation and everyone was genuinely excited.

She arrived with a letter, chocolates and a small gift. I was deeply touched. During the service she clapped, sang and held my hand...we also shared a few hugs along the way.

At some point in the service the Pastor asked if anyone needed prayer for any condition or sickness. I told her I would be right back, since I wanted prayer for Miss C, since she had been battling a horrible cough/allergy and fever the night before.

As I was standing, I felt someone besides me. It was her. I asked if she was allright to which she nodded. I asked if she had stood up for prayer and she nodded. After they prayed for Miss C, the Pastor's prayed for her. She began to cry...they told her how special she was, not special because of her condition, special because God had made her and God doesn't make unspecial people. They spoke words of encouragement and of love. She cried and held onto my hand.

After everything was over, we went to eat. They had lunch at church yesterday and everyone was so nice to her. She was beaming with happiness. We spoke, we laughed, we had a great time.

I spoke to her parents and agreed to drop her off at a close mall, since they were there shopping. Her mom came up to me and I told her we had had a great time and that if they needed me for anything or if my new friend needed to give me a call, I was more than available. Her mom, started to cry, right there in the store. She told me with a huge smile how much this had meant to all of them. How much it had meant that we gals, all of us, had been so nice to her daughter and have decided to be her friends. We exchanged a huge hug...and everyone left smiling.

My day, year and month had been made.

Simply by being a friend.

Butt of the joke

So how was my weekend?

Well let's say that Friday we made our way to Vader's for our traditional UNO card tournament.

Every Friday, bro,his gal, my cousin, Vader and I get together to eat and play...every Friday there is a main target:

DESTROY ALL OPPONENTS.

The rule: THERE IS NO FAMILY.

Every Friday Vader always makes some hairbrained mistake like throwing random cards and ends up being the butt of the joke.

This Friday, Vader got her revenge.

Empress showed up with her husband since they had no electricity and joined in on the fun.

We started to play, have a great time, when....

::rumble rumble::

My stomach.

Good Lord, my stomach.
Hey, I know we've all had stomach issues, but stomach issues with these folks around, was a big hellanono, especially in a small apartment with one bathroom almost next to the UNO table.

There are no more words needed. Let's just say I spent most of the night NOT playing UNO, hearing my 'friends and family' have a jolly ol' time at my expense.

I don't think I have laughed so hard in a looong time.

In the end, it was a swell swell time. I had become the butt of the joke, literally. Vader's eyes sparkled with glee.

And to think that Kamila (my pronto niece) will have a swell bedtime story about the week before she was born...

Ah, the memories...

::cringe::

for you darling

PS...

Today my Best Friend in the Whole Wide World and the hottest future momma that ever walked on this planet (cuz Lord knows I wasn't the hottest future momma) turns Twenty something...

I ain't saying the something to still hold on to a bit of dignity...

I know she reads this, so...here goes:

I love ya little lady...and I wish you the best birthday ever...may God bless you very very much and your little "muppet" (@ copyrighted term) too!!!

It's all better

I got a msn message from Empress the other days....

Something was found in her breast.

Something not good.
She needed studies. Doctors worried. Empress worried.

I couldn't help but choke back the tears as I read what I read sitting at my desk.

Empress' mom died of breast cancer. My second mom.

I sat in my car that afternoon and cried.
Prayed.

She was due for testing on Saturday.
Results in on Tuesday.

The wait was eternal and horrible.

Tests came back positive.

My best friend is all right.

Praise God.

**Note: positive as in "all is well" nothing bad came up on the results**

"Momma, wake up, it's the Holidays! It's Christmas" She whispered in my ear, in English no less.

She woke up around 8pm, very patient, went to the tree and saw her gifts...she opened them with a huge smile. She was delighted.

I even threw some presents near the chimney. She squealed.

She got tons of Pet Shop toys, a V Tech V smile Game Console, new sneakers, "Rabatooie" (Ratatouie), clothes, pj's, the dancing My little pony, Spongebob Operation (which she is terrified of) and lots more.

I got a wonderful, much needed Elizabeth Arden Makeup Kit from True.

No perfume.

Thank God.

I got clothes from my mom and candles from my bro's girlfriend.

We spent the morning at home, had a huge breakfast, pizza for lunch and then headed off to True's house. We spent the afternoon with his parents then headed out to Vader's in the evening.

There Miss C had a blast, bro and girlfriend went overboard with presents for her.
Hasbro should give them a prize for buying them out. I think she officially has all the Littlest Pet Shop collection.

We all exchanged gifts, then sat down for a little Pictionary. We giggled and almost wet our pants with our expert drawing skills. Vader looked on in delight.

Empress showed up bearing gifts for us as well.

She looked at us playing and said: "You guys look like the wholesome all american family".

That was the nicest comment I could have received that night.

Pictionary, good food and an almost normal family.

Now if I could only fast forward New Year's Eve and The Three Kings Day.

change is ....

"Change is good".

I heard a guy say today.

sometimes I agree, and other moments I think it's a crock.

I think everything is much like a crock these days.

everything except the fact that we are 2.5 games behind Boston in the AL East Division.

everything else falls in crock territory.

*******

I started Pilates again this week. My whole body is completely sore. My arms hurt, my butt, my legs...but no pain no gain, right???? My goal is to lose 10 pounds before X-mas...not a difficult goal....from 126 to 116 is not bad at all.

A whole new me is coming for 2008. Suckas Beware..

I'm doing this for myself. I wanna feel better, I wanna fit into itsy bitsy bikini's and not feel so self conscious about my looks. I've never been one to really give a crap...but lately I've been rocking the sweat pants and the baseball caps too hard....I think it's time for a makeover...

********

In other news...and no, I don't care who happens to read this....things are kind of shaky on the relationship front.

something is just sooo off.

I think it has to do with EGOS.

Big HIS AND HERS MATCHING EGOS.

It's hard keeping up with the demands of a relationship. It's hard trying to comply and be nice and keep my trap shut and not jump into all sorts of conclusions.

things just suck big time.

and sometimes you just wanna tell it all to just 'eff off..ya' know? like : 'you don't need this crap...'

in this case change would be good.

If of course, you don't happen to love the other person. Which in this case, is not the case.

I love True.

It's just so effin' hard trying to get along with him at times....

is it just me? or are there times where you wanna bash your significant other's head in??? Tell me it isn't just me...

we are, as the pastors would say...a marriage in training...and these past few weeks this training has sucked.

Because of our busy fall schedule's..we've been not seeing each other as regularly...meaning not every single day, all day.

it's given me time to think...excersise..try to pray...and try hard to test my will and not eat the snicker's bar that is in my fridge.

::sigh::

my arms are sore and my head hurts...and our relationship takes a toll on me sometimes.

I can't even begin to think about the upcoming holidays, how to split up between families AND wedding plans...

not that there are any wedding plans as of right now.

no ring. no plans.

that much I'm sure.

right now I prefer the slow route to this whole getting married thing.

I know I've been rambling off and on about this whole ordeal and I'm beginning to sound on the tad bi-polar side, one day I'm amped, on day I'm having iceberg feet.

it's the unmarypoppins in me that tells me to take it easy to avoid making further mistakes.

I'm trusting the U.M.P (Un Mary Poppins) for the time being.

***********
Many have wondered about the wheareabouts of the Empress...well she is still alive.

She is working far far away..so our infamous Lunch Sessions are over for now. I have not seen her in months, though she lives a mere 10 minutes away from my own pad. Our conflict of schedule's has made it difficult for me to stop by. I am a sucky friend. I know.

She has a boyfriend. Yes, a boyfriend. I have not met him, but she says he is a really nice guy. For his sake, I hope he is....he doesn't wanna get on my bad side, especially with my state of mind these days.

She invited me over Monday because this lady who sells shoes stops by her house to sell her some....Miss C has too much homework, which happened to be a good thing...Lord knows I can't afford anymore shoes right now.

But, we talk daily on MSN....and yesterday we had a picture exchange fest...to see who could exchange more absurd, ridiculous pictures...none of ourselves..just random pictures to make fun of...

I was feeling a tad snarky....sue me..

She has been kind to lend an ear during these past few hard days...and her piece of advice is always priceless..."You always have me, gossip magazines and bad pictures".

::clinks glass::

your damn right.

Mary P. The Tour...

Am I a busy bee...Yes..

Yesterday I made three..yes, three visits...Stalker friend...Vader's and True's...

It's Mary P. The World Tour..

Sign up now so you can receive info on the tour dates....

The day went a lil' like this...

(the night before)

"Hey..you coming over tomorrow right?" friend...aka...stalker friend..

"Yes...I'll head out around 2pm". Moi..

Yesterday morning...at 8am..

*ring ring*

"Who the (*&^%$#@ is calling at this hour..on my effin' day off??..it better be an emergency..."

Caller ID: Stalker friend..

I don't pick up.

She calls 5 more times....in a row..
Leaving 5 voice mails and 5 text messages...

Which I ignore...

Vader then makes her grand entrance and calls two times..

DON'T PEOPLE SLEEP PAST 8 ANYMORE??!!

Around 11am I stumble out of bed...call Vader..and she's like: Why are you sleeping in sooo late??

IT'S MY LAST DAY OFF....

"Well..I'm making dinner tonight..come over with Miss C".

"Fine".

I call stalker friend..

"You coming over??"
"Did I tell you last night I was?" Moi
"Yes.."
"Ok."
"What time?"
"I told you around two".

I hang up...

At 1:30 pm my phone rings...stalker friend..
I don't pick up..
1:45pm..ring ring..again...

I pick up..

"Whattt???" me, obviously annoyed..
"Where are ya' at?"
"At my House!"
"Why? aren't ya coming over?"

::I proceed to bang my head on the door:: Literally..(I've been banging my head on surfaces lately to channel my anger....I maybe Autistic too)

"Yes..." I hiss..."what time did I tell you I was heading out?"
"Two"
"What time is it?"
"....(pause) 1:45"
"Is it two?"
"No".
"Ok. then...if you keep calling I can't get ready....and if you keep calling more, I'll stay at home".

Stalker friend chuckles...she does not believe my wrath.

Don't get me wrong..she is a good gal..and I love her fam...but I can't deal with sticky friends like that...it makes me nervous...

So...I end up staying there like two hours, when Vietnam calls....

No buses today.
Holiday.

I had never been so happy in my life to get a call from Vietnam...
I hauled ass to pick him up and continue my tour...

After the long day...and a couple of other mishaps...I went to bed..

Guess who called me this morning at 9am...and left one voice message and one text message...

Stalker friend..

"Hey, Miss C left some toys over here...we have to coordinate to get them back to her...The next get-to-gether is at your spot!!"
